Sattva Dark Brown is a natural henna hair dye for adding depth to brown hair and creating dark brown tones. Indigo and henna form the colouring base. Amla, bhringraj and neem complete the blend of five plants.

The result depends on your starting hair colour, hair condition and previous colouring. Lighter strands and grey hair may take the colour differently from darker lengths. This plant-based hair colour does not lighten your hair.

How to use

1. Wash your hair with a silicone-free shampoo.
2. Mix the powder with water at about 50 °C, using a powder-to-water ratio of 1:3, to make a smooth paste. Leave the paste to rest for 30 minutes.
3. Put on gloves and apply thoroughly in sections, from roots to ends.
4. Cover with a cap and wrap in a towel to keep warm. Leave on for 2–3 hours.
5. Rinse with warm water. Avoid shampoo for the next 48 hours while the colour develops.

Carry out a skin sensitivity test and a strand test before colouring. Follow the instructions on your pack.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use Dark Brown henna on grey hair?
Yes, although grey strands may take a different shade from the rest of your hair. For a more even brown result, a two-step process may help: colour with pure henna first, then apply Dark Brown. Test on a small strand before colouring all your hair.

Will Dark Brown henna be completely free of red tones?
The undertone depends on your hair and previous colouring. This blend contains both henna and indigo, so a specific warm or cool result cannot be guaranteed. Assess your strand test after 48 hours.

How long should I leave Sattva henna on my hair?
The instructions for this product specify 2–3 hours on the hair. The separate 30-minute resting time is for the freshly mixed paste before application.
