Kaveri Henna Powder 250 g – premium-sifted powder from the henna capital Sojat
Origin & quality
Sojat, Rajasthan, holds the protected geographical indication (GI) “Sojat Mehndi”. The region’s arid climate and lime-rich soil maximise the pigment lawsone, giving Kaveri its deep terracotta-to-dark-brown tone.
Key benefits
- 100 % natural – nothing but finely milled Lawsonia inermis leaves.
- Ultra-fine triple sift – silky paste glides easily through cones or applicator bottles.
- High lawsone content – intense colour after oxidation with excellent staying power.
Applications
1. Mehndi & body art
Choose one of two mixing methods.
A) Quick recipe (water only)
- Ingredients: 20 g henna powder + 60 ml warm water (≈ 1 : 3).
- Stir to thick-yoghurt consistency, cover with cling film and let stand for 30–40 min to activate the dye.
- Fill a cone, apply your design and leave on the skin for 2–3 h (overnight for maximum depth).
- Scrape off the dry paste; avoid water for another 6–8 h.
B) Professional recipe (lemon juice + sugar + essential oil)
- Ingredients for one cone (~ 25 g paste):
25 g henna powder;
25–30 ml fresh lemon juice (add gradually);
1–2 tsp sugar;
10–15 drops eucalyptus, tea-tree or cajeput essential oil.
- Blend henna with lemon juice to a puree-like paste, cover and leave at room temperature for a full 8–12 h dye-release.
- Add sugar and essential oil, mix well. Adjust thickness with a few drops of juice if needed.
- Let the paste mature for another 1–2 h, strain through a stocking and fill cones.
- Apply, then keep on the skin for 6–8 h (you may wrap with bandage or film). Colour darkens to rich brown within 24–48 h.
2. Natural hair colouring & care
- Apply the paste to clean, damp hair from roots to tips.
- Cover with a shower cap and towel to keep warm.
- Leave on for 1–4 h depending on the desired copper-to-chestnut shade.
- Rinse thoroughly with warm water (no shampoo), condition if desired.
