Product highlights

  • Color — deep black, visible immediately after application.
  • Wear time — usually 5–7 days on the skin.
  • Weight of one cone — 25 g, enough for about 5–10 simple medium-size designs.
  • No PPD — according to the manufacturer, the black color comes from the cosmetic colorant CI 77267, not from paraphenylenediamine (PPD).
  • Use for — body art, mehndi designs, cosplay, festivals, parties and temporary tattoos you want to try before getting a permanent one.

A note on black henna and PPD

The term “black henna” often appears in the news when temporary tattoo paste is mixed on the spot from unknown powders, especially at tourist locations. Some of those mixtures may contain a high concentration of PPD (paraphenylenediamine), an ingredient associated with a higher risk of irritation, burns and long-lasting allergic reactions.

Golecha is a different type of product. It is a ready-made branded cone produced under ISO 9001-certified quality management, and the manufacturer states that the paste is clinically tested and made without PPD. The design usually lasts about one week, not three, which is one of the practical differences compared with strong PPD-based mixtures.

Ingredients

Water, Lawsonia inermis Extract, Eucalyptus globulus Leaf Extract, Hydroxypropyl Guar, Phenonip P4, CI 77267.

  • Water — the base of the paste.
  • Lawsonia inermis Extract — henna extract.
  • Eucalyptus globulus Leaf Extract — eucalyptus extract, a traditional ingredient in Indian mehndi pastes.
  • Hydroxypropyl Guar — a guar-based thickener that gives the paste the right texture.
  • Phenonip P4 — a cosmetic preservative that helps keep the paste stable inside the cone.
  • CI 77267 — the black colorant used in the paste.

How to apply a black henna tattoo — step by step

1. Prepare the skin

Wash the area with soap and dry it with a towel. Do not apply oil or cream right before drawing — henna paste works best on clean, dry skin.

2. Prepare the cone

Cut the tip of the cone with scissors. The smaller the cut, the thinner the line. If you are planning a detailed design with both fine outlines and large filled areas, use two cones: one with a very small opening for outlines and one with a larger opening for filling.

3. Draw your design

Hold the cone in the way that feels most comfortable and press evenly while drawing the line. Black henna stains quickly, so if you make a mistake, wipe it off right away with a damp wipe.

4. Let it dry

Wait about 30 minutes. Thick lines and large filled areas may take longer to dry — up to about one hour. While the design is drying, do not touch it, because the lines can smudge easily.

5. Peel off the dried film

Once the paste is completely dry, it turns into a thin film. Gently peel it away from the skin — the black temporary tattoo remains underneath.

Aftercare

You can wash the area with soap and take a shower — the design is water-resistant. However, heavy rubbing, exfoliating, scrubbing with a washcloth and long exposure to salt water or chlorinated water can make the tattoo fade faster.

If you want to remove the temporary tattoo earlier, it is usually easier to rub off with soap and a washcloth after 3–4 days.

Safety and allergy information

Golecha black henna is made as a PPD-free option for temporary body art, but any cosmetic product can cause an individual reaction. If you have sensitive skin or have reacted to fragrance ingredients, preservatives or cosmetic products before, do a patch test 24 hours before use: apply a small amount of paste to the inside of your elbow and leave it for at least 8 hours. If there is no redness, itching or swelling, you can use the product.

Do not apply to irritated or damaged skin. We also do not recommend using it during pregnancy without consulting a doctor.

Who is it for?

  • Festival, concert and party guests.
  • Brides and guests at a mehndi night before a wedding.
  • Cosplayers who need a character tattoo that looks realistic and does not wipe off in one day.
  • Anyone thinking about a permanent tattoo who wants to test the look for a week first.
  • Body art artists working at events, after a patch test.

FAQ

Does Golecha black henna contain PPD?

No. The manufacturer states this directly on the packaging with the text “No PPD, Clinically tested.” According to the manufacturer, the black color comes from CI 77267 combined with henna extract. This is also why the design lasts about a week, not three weeks like some strong unregulated mixtures used on tourists at resorts.

How many designs can I make with one cone?

On average, one cone is enough for about 5–10 simple medium-size designs — for example, a mandala on the back of the hand or an ornament on the forearm. The exact number depends on the size of the tattoo and the thickness of the lines.

How should I store it?

Store the cone in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. The shelf life is 2 years from the manufacturing date printed on the box. After cutting the tip, it is best to use the cone within a few days, because the paste may start to dry near the opening.

Can I use it on my face?

The manufacturer does not specify this product for face application. Facial skin is thinner and more sensitive, and the paste should not come into contact with mucous membranes. For festival makeup or face designs, use products made specifically for face painting.

What should I do if irritation occurs?

Wash the paste off immediately with warm water and soap, then apply a soothing cream. If the reaction does not go away, contact a doctor.
